The sequence record HQ824819 (Sinaj et al. 2026: 175), indicating the sampling of C. sinensis in Australia, is erroneous. The Genbank record for this accession number HQ824819 refers to the plant species Liriodendron chinense (Hemsl.) Sarg. (Magnoliaceae) (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/search/all/?term=HQ824819). The sample HQ-824811.1 from Australia in the text (Siraj et al. 2026: PCR Amplification and Species Identification) does not refer to any species name and the locality of this voucher is erroneous. This voucher HQ-824811.1 belongs to C. sinensis and was collected in Taiwan (see Valenzuela et al. 2022: 540).
