| Taxon remarks: | Type species: Tinea phasianipennella Hübner, 1813. By subsequent designation by Bradley, 1967. Entomologist's Gazette 18: 45. The name of the type species was engraved in script as phasianipenella, an incorrect original spelling. The names before and after that of the type species and having the same termination i.e., fig. 317 falconipennella, fig. 319 anseripennella, and fig. 327 canapennella were engraved in script with a bar over the n to denote nn. Hübner later used the corrected spelling which is now in general current use (Nye & Fletcher 1991: 53). |
