*   Blotch mine on upperside of leaf. Mainly on Quercus alba and Q. macrocarpa (Brown et al. 1997: 17). The records of Magnolia sp. [Magnoliaceae] and Ostrya virginiana (Mill.) K. Koch [Betulaceae] (Braun 1908b: 330, Ely 1918: 51) are probably erroneous (Maier & Davis 1989: 5).
