COMMENTSType species: Gracillaria resplendens Stainton, 1863. By original designation. The type species was established in combination with the generic name Gracilaria, at that time an incorrect subsequent spelling of Gracillaria Haworth, 1828 (Nye & Fletcher 1991: 92).
